WHY IS PILATES SUITABLE FOR PREGNANT WOMEN?
Pilates is a FANTASTIC form of exercise for pregnant women as it really works you - from the inside out!  Pilates is a very slow, controlled form of movement which specifically targets your inner core muscles which lie deep into your abdominal/back area. That's not to say that it's a complete walk in the park either though! You'll certainly feel it working after a few sessions.

Unfortunately, general Pilates classes which are run at your local gym/studio aren't really suitable for pregnant women to attend, but you'll be safe in the knowledge that Bump to Babe Pregnancy Pilates Classes are specifically geared towards you and your adapting body.

Pilates not only strengthens your abdominal muscles, it also helps stretch those muscles in your body which can sometimes feel tense/tight. Areas like your upper back, neck, hips and lower back are all places where you feel tension, so Pilates will certainly make a difference to your posture.

Pilates gets you in tune with your breathing too and helps you work your pelvic floor muscles effectively, making you all the more prepared for labour.  An hourly class also provides you with a great stress relief after a hard, long day at home with the children, or at work.

ARE THE CLASSES RUN BY A QUALIFIED INSTRUCTOR?
Classes are run by Claire Mockridge, an experienced Ante/Postnatal Fitness and Pilates Instructor who has worked with over 400 pregnant and postnatal women from Nottingham and surrounding areas. So, (without her polishing her nails on her chest!) you could say she is well-qualified to take you through the basics of Pilates if you have never done it before, and if you have, Claire will progress you on safely if you are a veteran to the Joseph Pilates method.

HOW TO REGISTER
All participants need to be at least 12 weeks pregnant to attend, and you will need to complete a Registration Form to register a place (unless you attend one of Claire's Bump to Babe Pregnancy Fitness Classes already, where you won't need to!).  Please click on the "register" tab above to download the Registration Form.  Please bear in mind if you have any pre-existing injuries or have had any complications throughout your pregnancy, you will still be able to attend, but Doctor's Consent may be required from your Medical Practioner, and this can sometimes can take a little while to obtain, so don't delay – fill in your Registration Form TODAY!

COURSE COST
You will be booking onto a short course of specialist Antenatal Pilates sessions, and you will pay one simple payment of £35 (6-week courses) or £45 (8-week courses), before the course starts to secure your place.  No membership fees, no hassle, just 6 or 8 weeks of targeted exercise, specifically for you and your growing baby.  Discounts are available to existing Bump to Babe Fitness clients and those who re-enrol for a second Pregnancy Pilates course, so please enquire.
