What is Bump to Babe?
Bump to Babe classes are specific antenatal fitness classes for expectant mums who want to exercise confidently, safely and effectively throughout their pregnancy.
Exercising throughout your pregnancy can help you:
- Maintain your fitness level
- Control your weight
- Relieve stress and anxiety
- Improve your posture
- Have fewer symptoms of constipation, varicose veins and fatigue
- Have a faster postnatal recovery
- Improve your confidence
- Prepare for birth - strong muscles and a fit heart can ease labour and delivery
Sessions can be joined from after your 1st trimester/12 weeks, subject to completion of a Health Screening Questionnaire / Registration Form.
Classes are run by Claire Mockridge, a qualified and experienced Personal Trainer/Ante and Postnatal Instructor and the sessions include a basic aerobic routine (no advanced steps or twists and turns here, due to pregnancy fog!), toning exercises and stretching elements to help you:
- Maintain your cardiovascular fitness level whilst pregnant,
- Strengthen your abdominal muscles/pelvic floor, and
- Strengthen, stretch and relieve tension in the major muscles which alter during pregnancy
